TEMA SAC technical conferences in Peru

The conferences were held in Lima on 4th and 5th July and were attended by authorities and professionals with extensive local and international experience, who formed part of the expert’s panel.
The first block of presentations was dedicated to news in environmental licensing and industrial safety. At this conference, the representative of the Strategies Department of the General Directorate of Environmental Quality of the Ministry of the Environment of Peru (MINAM) presented a paper on Instruments for the Management and Certification of Environmental Quality; specialists from the Supervisory Body of Investment in Energy and Mining of Peru (OSINERGMIN) discussed the implementation of DS 043-2007-EM as an instrument to manage industrial safety; and the Manager of Environment, Safety and Quality-Pacific E&P of the company REPSOL spoke about Integrated Risk Management. At this thematic cluster, experts from TEMA SAC and TEMA S.A., a consultancy associated with LITOCLEAN for safety and environment, presented details on the impact of new special provisions of the Council of Ministers for Environmental Licensing and on the development of Risk Analyses, according to RCA 240-2010-05/CD.
At the second block of presentations, aimed at the management of soil and groundwater contamination, the Ministry of the Environment of Peru (ECA-MINAM) emphasized the Challenges and Solutions of Management in the new soil ECA, and the Head of Department of Management of Contaminated Soil at the Government of Catalonia spoke about Methodological Guides for Investigation Technologies, as well as the experience in contaminated soil management accumulated throughout the entity’s 20-year existence. In this section, the General Manager of TEMA SAC presented practical cases of remediation technologies. Litoclean Group actively participated in this panel through its manager, who explained in detail the risk management methodology as a management tool and shared with the auditorium the company’s vast experience in this area, compiled from its works executed at sites in Europe and Latin America.
The roundtables organised on both days facilitated interesting exchanges of ideas and criteria between event attendees.
